How to Get to The Underbog
The entrance to The Underbog is inside Coilfang Reservoir in Zangarmarsh at coordinates 54, 33. The Underbog is on the lower level of the Coilfang complex, across from The Slave Pens and beside The Steamvault.
How to Enter The Underbog Heroic Mode
To enter Heroic, you need Level 70 and Revered with Cenarion Expedition, then buy the Coilfang Heroic key: 30623 from the reputation quartermaster.

Gather an 24247 and return it to 17857. The vine is located right behind 17770.

Loot 24248 from the final boss, 17882, and bring it back to 17866.
Bosses
Hungarfen
Mobile fight. Keep moving, kill mushrooms, and respect the poison cloud burn phase at low health.
Hungarfen Strategy
- Keep moving to avoid spores, spore clouds, and mushroom explosions.
- Mushrooms expand and explode shortly after spawning. Step away early and do not greed casts.
- At ~20% he roots himself and drops a large poison cloud within ~10 yards. Treat this as the burn phase: stay out and finish him.
- Heroic: mushrooms spawn faster and his nature damage (especially 38739) hits much harder. Movement is mandatory.
Hungarfen Abilities
Ghaz’an
Classic “dragon/hydra positioning” fight. Keep him faced away and do not stand in the acid.
Ghaz’an Strategy
- Tank him with your back to a wall to limit knockback problems.
- Everyone else should treat this like Onyxia rules: avoid the tail/cleave zone and never stand in front.
- Step out of 34267 and avoid the frontal cone acid spits.
- Heroic: nature breath damage is higher. Nature resistance or pots can help a lot.
Ghaz’an Abilities
Swamplord Musel’ek
Two-target fight: Musel’ek plus his bear companion. Control the bear while you focus the hunter first.
Swamplord Musel’ek Strategy
- 17826 is accompanied by 17827. Think of it like a hunter plus a bear pet.
- He periodically freezes everyone. Wait it out, then re-engage cleanly.
- Have an off-tank or pet pick up 17827 while the group kills 17826 first.
- Heroic: health and damage are significantly higher. Keep interrupts/CC tight and respect healer mana.
Swamplord Musel’ek Abilities
Claw Abilities
The Black Stalker
Spread out, dispel the lift, and avoid chain damage when someone is marked. Nature resistance helps a lot in long Heroic fights.
The Black Stalker Strategy
- Stay spread out to reduce splash damage from 31717, especially if someone is afflicted with 31715.
- 31704 floats a player and is dispellable. Clear it quickly so the target can reposition.
- Heroic: he frequently casts multiple 38755 every 10–15 seconds. Nature resistance can make healing far less stressful.

- Most trash is Beast and Elemental, with a few Humanoids mixed in.
- Humanoid CC is less consistent here, so be ready to use slows, roots, banish-style control, and focused interrupts instead.
- Disease and poison management matters throughout the run. Bring cleanses and use them often.
