How to Get the Talbuk Mount in TBC Classic (Kurenai / Mag’har Reputation Guide)

To buy Talbuk ground mounts in The Burning Crusade Classic, you need to reach Exalted with Kurenai (Alliance) or Mag’har (Horde) in Nagrand. This guide covers the fastest reputation methods, the best ogre grind spots, and where to buy all Talbuk colors once you hit Exalted.

Talbuk Mount Requirements

You start Unfriendly with both Kurenai and Mag’har, and you’ll need to reach Exalted to purchase Talbuk mounts. The two main ways to earn reputation are:

  • Questing (Hellfire Peninsula, Zangarmarsh, and Nagrand) to get a head start
  • Ogre grinding + Obsidian Warbeads in Nagrand (fastest and repeatable)

Method 1: Questing for Kurenai / Mag’har Reputation

If you want to quest your way up and get a head start before grinding, Questie makes this really easy. Open your world map and hover an exclamation point, then press Shift. If a quest rewards reputation, it will appear in blue.

You can also type /questie, click My Journey, go to Quests by Faction, then select The Burning Crusade and choose Mag’har (Horde) or Kurenai (Alliance). Questie will list every quest available that rewards reputation.

Method 2: Ogre Grinding + Obsidian Warbeads (Fastest)

If you want the simplest route, go straight to Nagrand and start killing ogres. Your main grind spots are:

  • Warmaul Hill
  • Laughing Skull Ruins
  • Burning Blade Ruins

In general, if you see an ogre in Nagrand, it usually grants reputation and can drop Obsidian Warbeads.

  • 1 ogre kill = 10 reputation
  • 10 Obsidian Warbeads = 500 reputation (Humans gain more due to racial)

Important: there is also a Consortium rep turn-in for Warbeads. Avoid that quest if you are focusing strictly on Kurenai or Mag’har reputation.

Horde: Mag’har Warbeads Turn-in and Talbuk Vendor

Horde players should go to Garadar and complete Proving Your Strength from Warden Bullrok at coordinates 55, 37. This unlocks the repeatable turn-in: More Warbeads!

These quests require level 65, so you can begin grinding at 65 and earn both experience and reputation if you want.

Once you reach Exalted, purchase Talbuk mounts from Quartermaster Nasela at coordinates 53, 36 in Garadar.

Alliance: Kurenai Warbeads Turn-in and Talbuk Vendor

Alliance players should go to Telaar and turn in Warbeads at Warden Moi’bff Jill at coordinates 54, 70 with the quest Fierce Enemies. After turning in once, you’ll unlock the repeatable quest: More Warbeads.

Once you reach Exalted, purchase Talbuk mounts from Trader Narasu at coordinates 54, 75 in Telaar.
