How to Get the Flying Machine and Turbo-Charged Flying Machine in TBC Classic (Engineering 350 and 375)
Engineers in The Burning Crusade Classic can craft two exclusive flying mounts: Flying Machine Control at Engineering 350, and the epic Turbo-Charged Flying Machine Control at Engineering 375. This guide covers where to learn each recipe, what materials you need, and how to craft both mounts.
Step 1: Learn Flying Machine Control (Engineering 350)
First, level Engineering to 350. Then head to Shadowmoon Valley and learn the Flying Machine Control recipe from your faction trainer.
Trainer locations
- Horde: Jonathan Garrett, Shadowmoon Village (29, 28) in Shadowmoon Valley
- Alliance: Niobe Whizzlespark, Wildhammer Stronghold (36, 55) in Shadowmoon Valley
Training cost: 12 gold.
Flying Machine Control Materials (Full List)
Collect the following materials, then craft at an anvil with an Arclight Spanner and a Blacksmith Hammer:
- 2x Adamantite Frame
- 30x Fel Iron Bar
- 8x Handful of Fel Iron Bolts
- 8x Star Wood
- 5x Adamantite Bar
- 4x Elemental Seaforium Charge
Where to get Star Wood
Star Wood is purchased from enchanting supply vendors. One easy pick: Madame Ruby in Shattrath (63, 70).
Where to get Elemental Seaforium Charge
The schematic Schematic: Elemental Seaforium Charge is bind on pickup and requires Revered with The Consortium. You can buy it from a Consortium quartermaster:
- Paulsta’ats, Aeris Landing (30, 57) in Nagrand
- Karaaz, Stormspire (43, 34) in Netherstorm
Tip: If you don’t have the schematic, you can ask an Engineer friend to craft the Elemental Seaforium Charge for you, or buy charges from the Auction House if available.
Craft the Flying Machine Control
Once you have the materials, head to an anvil and craft Flying Machine Control using your Arclight Spanner and Blacksmith Hammer.
Nice bonus: crafting it at Engineering 350 should give you a skill-up to 351. Next goal: push Engineering to 375 for the epic version.
Step 2: Learn Turbo-Charged Flying Machine (Engineering 375)
Once you hit Engineering 375, return to the same trainers in Shadowmoon Valley to learn the Turbo-Charged Flying Machine Control recipe: Jonathan Garrett (Horde) or Niobe Whizzlespark (Alliance).
Training cost: 18 gold.
Turbo-Charged Flying Machine Materials (Full List)
- 1x Flying Machine Control (crafted in Step 1)
- 8x Khorium Power Core
- 8x Felsteel Stabilizer
- 1x Hula Girl Doll
Where to get the Hula Girl Doll
The Hula Girl Doll is sold by Griftah in the Lower City of Shattrath. The cost discounts based on your Lower City reputation.
Khorium Power Cores and Felsteel Stabilizers
Khorium Power Core and Felsteel Stabilizer are trainable from Engineering trainers at skill level 340, but the mats are pricey.
- Khorium Power Core (per core): 3x Khorium Bar + 1x Primal Fire
- Felsteel Stabilizer (per stabilizer): 2x Felsteel Bar (each Felsteel Bar is smelted from Fel Iron Bar and Eternium Bar)
Expect this craft to be a gold sink depending on your server economy and Auction House prices.
Craft the Turbo-Charged Flying Machine
Once you’ve got everything, head back to an anvil, craft Turbo-Charged Flying Machine Control, and enjoy flying around Outland on an Engineer-only flex.
