Could Dwarf Shamans Be Coming to Classic Plus? New Project Camelot Clues

New encrypted promotional rewards and two closely timed Project Camelot build updates are raising fresh questions about what Blizzard may be preparing for the future of WoW Classic.

The discoveries include a Dwarf Bear mount, a mysterious Skyborne Cat mount and several Shen’dorei-themed rewards. Could these assets hint at new playable options—including Dwarf Shamans—or are they simply part of a separate Retail WoW promotion?

New Dwarf and Skyborne Rewards Discovered

WoW dataminer Stiven shared details about several encrypted promotional rewards that may be connected to Project Camelot.

The encrypted or partially identified rewards reportedly include:

  • A Dwarf Bear mount
  • A Skyborne Cat mount with four color variations
  • Two encrypted transmog sets
  • A three-dimensional Adventurer cape
  • A Shen’dorei Windwell toy
  • Two tabards
  • Five pieces of Skyborne housing decor

Stiven believes one of the transmog sets is Shen’dorei-themed, while the other could match the Dwarf Bear mount or have a broader adventurer theme.

The Skyborne Cat reportedly has separate Classic and Retail versions, with the Classic model possibly using a lower-polygon visual style. That could indicate a promotion spanning multiple versions of World of Warcraft, although the purpose of these assets remains encrypted.

Additional rewards involving Rexxar, Misha and Huffer may be connected to the same promotion—or could belong to something entirely separate.

Could the Dwarf Bear Hint at Dwarf Shamans?

One possibility is that the dwarf-themed rewards represent more than a cosmetic promotion.

If Project Camelot is Blizzard’s long-rumored Classic Plus project, could expanded Dwarf class options be part of it? Dwarf Shamans would allow the Alliance to gain access to the Shaman class without introducing the Draenei and their Burning Crusade storyline into the original Classic setting.

There is some precedent for the concept within Warcraft lore. Wildhammer Dwarves have a strong connection to nature, spirits and the elements, making Shaman a natural fit for an expanded Dwarf identity.

However, the Dwarf Bear mount does not prove that Dwarf Shamans—or any new race and class combinations—are being developed. It could simply be a promotional reward with no connection to playable features.

Who Are the Shen’dorei or Skyborne Elves?

The other side of the discovery involves the Shen’dorei, also referred to through the datamined Skyborne naming.

Their apparent elven aesthetic has led to speculation that they could fit with the Alliance, particularly if Blizzard intends to introduce a new elf option into Classic Plus. The Skyborne Cat mount, themed transmog, toy, tabard and housing decorations suggest that this group may have a meaningful identity rather than being represented by a single isolated cosmetic.

That possibility immediately creates more questions.

Could both Dwarves and Shen’dorei receive new Alliance options? Are the Skyborne rewards only part of a cross-version Retail promotion? If these clues do represent playable Alliance content, what corresponding race, class or rewards would the Horde receive?

For now, no playable Shen’dorei race has been confirmed, and the connection between these promotional rewards and Project Camelot remains speculative.

Project Camelot Builds Updated on WoW Dev Five and WoW Dev Two

The promotional discoveries arrive alongside continued activity on Blizzard’s encrypted Patch 1.60 test branches.

On August 14, Algalon’s automated build detector reported a new build on WoW Dev Five:

  • WoW Dev Five: 1.60.0.69075 → 1.60.0.69322

Less than a day later, the detector identified another update on WoW Dev Two:

  • WoW Dev Two: 1.60.1.69141 → 1.60.1.69328

The two resulting build numbers—69322 and 69328—are extremely close, indicating that Blizzard is actively updating both Project Camelot test environments in parallel.

WoW Dev Two continues to carry the newer Patch 1.60.1 branch, while WoW Dev Five remains on Patch 1.60.0.

Is WoW Dev Five Being Prepared for a BlizzCon Demo?

Following the WoW Dev Five update, Stiven suggested that the test product could be intended for a BlizzCon demo.

One possible interpretation is that Blizzard is stabilizing a 1.60.0 build on WoW Dev Five for presentation or playable demo purposes while continuing active development on Patch 1.60.1 through WoW Dev Two.

This would explain why Blizzard is maintaining two separate branches so close to BlizzCon—but it is not the only explanation. WoW Dev Five could instead be used for internal quality assurance, compatibility testing, regional testing or another development workflow unrelated to the event.

No publicly visible demo realm or other direct evidence currently confirms that Project Camelot will be playable at BlizzCon.

What Do These Classic Plus Clues Actually Confirm?

The latest discoveries confirm that Blizzard continues to update separate encrypted Patch 1.60 development environments. They also show that dwarf- and Skyborne-themed promotional assets exist within World of Warcraft’s encrypted data.

They do not confirm:

  • That Project Camelot is officially named Classic Plus
  • That the promotional rewards belong to Project Camelot
  • That Dwarf Shamans are becoming playable
  • That the Shen’dorei will be a playable race
  • That both concepts would join the Alliance
  • That WoW Dev Five contains a BlizzCon demo

Nevertheless, the timing makes the activity notable. Blizzard is updating both the 1.60.0 and 1.60.1 branches while encrypted promotional assets appear to reference identities that could potentially fit an expanded version of Classic WoW.

For now, these discoveries raise more questions than answers—but with BlizzCon approaching, Project Camelot remains one of the most interesting developments to watch.
