TBC Classic Arena Season 1 Start Date (Feb 17, 2026) – Vendors, Gear & Rating Changes

Arena Season 1 officially begins on February 17, 2026 in The Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary, launching after each region’s weekly reset. This marks the start of competitive PvP in Outland, with Gladiator gear vendors available, new rating changes, and easier access to PvP set bonuses through Honor and Reputation gear combinations.

This guide breaks down everything you need to know about Arena Season 1, including vendor locations, rating changes, gear requirements, and how to start gearing efficiently from day one.

Arena Vendors and Location

Players can queue for Arenas and purchase PvP gear in Shattrath City at coordinates 73, 55. This area contains everything needed to participate in Arena Season 1, including:

  • Arena battlemasters to queue for 2v2, 3v3, and 5v5 brackets
  • A bulletin board showing Arena rating and bracket information
  • Gladiator gear vendors selling Season 1 PvP equipment

Gladiator gear can also be previewed at Area 52 in Netherstorm, where vendors such as Krixel Pinchwhistle and Vixton Pinchwhistle offer the full Arena gear sets.

New Arena Rating System Changes

One of the biggest updates in TBC Classic Anniversary Phase 1 is the new Arena rating system:

  • All players now start at 1500 rating instead of 0
  • You can reset your rating to 1500 once per week if your rating falls below 1500
  • Ratings above 1500 cannot be reset
  • Each Arena bracket (2v2, 3v3, 5v5) has its own rating and weekly reset

This change makes Arena progression faster and allows players to recover more easily from losing streaks.

PvP Gear Requirements and Changes

Most Arena gear has no rating requirement, making it easier for players to start gearing through PvP. However, there are still rating requirements for the most powerful items:

  • Weapons require 1700 rating
  • Shoulders require 2000 rating

The overall Arena gear cost has also been slightly reduced compared to original TBC, making it faster to obtain full Gladiator sets.

Reputation PvP Gear and Set Bonus Changes

Reputation PvP gear is available starting in Arena Season 1. These sets now share combined set bonuses with Honor PvP gear, meaning players can mix Honor and Reputation pieces to unlock powerful set bonuses more easily.

This gives players more flexibility when gearing and allows faster progression into competitive PvP.
