New Project Camelot Datamine Reveals Possible Alliance and Horde Lordaeron Tabards

Another potential WoW Classic Project Camelot clue has appeared in the game files. Dataminer Stiven has shared two newly discovered textures that appear to represent separate Alliance and Horde versions of a Lordaeron tabard.

The discovery is already fueling more speculation about Blizzard’s mysterious Camelot project and whether it could be connected to a fresh version of WoW Classic, Classic+, or an alternate take on the original Azeroth.

Possible Lordaeron Tabards Found in Project Camelot

According to Stiven, the latest Camelot discovery consists of only two textures. They appear to show different versions of a Lordaeron-themed tabard—one associated with the Horde and another with the Alliance.

Lordaeron is an especially interesting choice for a project believed to be connected to the future of WoW Classic. The fallen human kingdom occupies an important place in the history of both factions: it was once the center of the human-led Alliance before eventually becoming the home of the Forsaken.

Providing separate Horde and Alliance versions could point toward new faction rewards, revised story content, or a setting in which both factions have competing claims to Lordaeron. However, the textures alone do not reveal how the tabards would be obtained—or whether players would obtain them at all.

How Does This Connect to Project Camelot?

Project Camelot is the name associated with a mysterious World of Warcraft project uncovered through datamining. Previous discoveries included references to Heroic and Epic editions, along with a potential connection to the unexplained WoW Classic patch 1.60 branch.

We covered the original discovery and the evidence surrounding patch 1.60 in our previous report: WoW Classic Project Camelot Datamined: Is Patch 1.60 Classic+?

Blizzard has not officially announced Project Camelot or confirmed that it represents Classic+. Nevertheless, the appearance of additional Camelot-related assets suggests that the project may involve more than an isolated internal test.

Could This Point to an Alternate Classic Story?

If these textures are genuinely intended for Project Camelot, their Lordaeron theme could support theories that Blizzard is developing a new version of the original World of Warcraft setting.

A Classic+ project could revisit unfinished areas and storylines while keeping the world, pacing, and core identity of Vanilla WoW. Lordaeron would be a natural setting for that kind of content because its history connects the Alliance, the Forsaken, the Scourge, the Scarlet Crusade, and several unresolved conflicts from the original game.

Separate faction tabards could simply be cosmetic rewards, but they could also represent opposing Alliance and Horde involvement in a new Lordaeron storyline. At this stage, that interpretation remains speculation.

The Skyborne Connection Complicates the Leak

There is another possible explanation. Stiven noted that the Alliance texture resembles a previously datamined Skyborne decor banner from the Retail WoW patch 12.0.5 files.

The Skyborne assets previously attracted attention because they were flagged as elven and included objects such as a “Windwell.” A community investigation posted to Reddit connected their rustic elven appearance, ranger-inspired markings, and wind theme to a possible group of High Elves.

The same discussion also highlighted an Arcane Ranger bow with a new file name containing “highelf,” rather than “bloodelf.” This led players to theorize that Skyborne could be the name of a previously unknown High Elf group.

That overlap creates two possibilities: the tabard texture may connect Project Camelot to the Skyborne, or visually similar assets from separate projects may be getting grouped together. It is also possible that Camelot and Retail share some development assets without sharing the same story.

Is This Proof of Fresh Classic or Classic+?

No—not yet. The files add another interesting piece to the Project Camelot mystery, but they do not confirm the project’s final name, setting, gameplay, or release model.

The most important detail is that Stiven reportedly identified these as Camelot-related textures. Combined with the earlier patch 1.60 build and product-license discoveries, the new assets provide another reason to watch the project closely.

Whether Camelot becomes a permanent Classic+ experience, a fresh seasonal version of Vanilla WoW, or something entirely different remains unknown. Until Blizzard makes an official announcement, every datamined asset should be treated as unfinished and subject to change.

Final Thoughts

Lordaeron-themed tabards for both factions would fit naturally into an expanded version of Classic Azeroth, especially if Blizzard plans to revisit one of Warcraft’s most contested kingdoms.

At the same time, the resemblance to the Skyborne assets prevents this from being a clean confirmation of Classic+ content. For now, the two textures are another compelling—but inconclusive—clue surrounding Project Camelot.

What do you think: are these tabards pointing toward a new conflict in Lordaeron, or could the discovery belong to a completely different World of Warcraft storyline?
