The Burning Crusade (TBC Classic) Hotfixes – February 12, 2026

TBC Arena gameplay

Blizzard has released new hotfixes for The Burning Crusade Classic, addressing dungeon key usability and correcting an armor bug that affected physical damage scaling. These changes improve dungeon accessibility and restore intended combat balance across Outland content.

Communal Flamewrought Keys Now Usable by Either Faction

The Communal Flamewrought Key, required for Heroic dungeons in Hellfire Citadel, can now be used by either faction as long as the character is Friendly with their respective faction — Honor Hold for Alliance or Thrallmar for Horde.

This change improves flexibility for players grouping across factions on modern Classic realms and helps ensure smoother access to Heroic dungeons early in progression.

Armor Bug Fixed Affecting Physical Damage

Blizzard also fixed a bug that caused enemies to have less armor than intended, which meant physical attacks were dealing higher damage than designed. With this fix applied during realm restarts, enemy armor values now correctly match their intended difficulty.

Players may notice slight increases in dungeon and raid difficulty for physical DPS classes now that armor mitigation is functioning properly.

Prepare for Heroic Dungeons
