Auchenai Crypts (AC) is the short, spooky Auchindoun wing with nasty caster pressure and “don’t stand there” mechanics. On Heroic, mistakes get expensive fast.
How to Get to Auchenai Crypts
The entrance is in 3519 at 55, 57. Auchindoun has four dungeons. Auchenai Crypts is on the west side of the Ring of Observance, see map below:
Heroic Auchenai Crypts Requirements
Heroic requires Level 70 and Revered with Lower City to buy 30633 from 21655.
29434 drops from each boss in Heroic and can be turned in to G’eras in Shattrath for extra epic rewards. The final boss also guarantees 23572.
When your faction controls the The Bone Waste towers in Terrokar Forest, you will gain the Blessing of Auchindoun buff, which allows players to collect Spirit Shards from bosses in Auchindoun dungeons. These can be redeemed with Spirit Sage Zran in Allerian Stronghold (Alliance) / Spirit Sage Gartok in Stonebreaker Hold (Horde) for items, gems, and gear.

Bosses
Shirrak the Dead Watcher
Spread, play max range, and move instantly when you get called out. This boss is all about positioning discipline.
Shirrak the Dead Watcher Strategy
- Tank him at the top of the stairs to keep the room controlled.
- His aura slows casting: 32264. Spread and play max range to reduce stacks.
- If you’re targeted by Focus Fire (he shouts your name), move immediately or you’ll get deleted.
- Heroic: damage ramps hard. Pre-move and use defensives early if you get targeted.
Shirrak the Dead Watcher Abilities
Exarch Maladaar
He hits hard and makes fake “you” clones. Swap fast, keep the fight tidy, and decide if you’re burning the boss at the end.
Exarch Maladaar Strategy
- When he spawns a Dark Clone, swap and kill it quickly so it doesn’t overwhelm the healer.
- At low health he summons an Avatar. Many groups burn the boss and clean up after if needed.
- Heroic: no new mechanics, just way less forgiveness. Treat clones as top priority.
- Note: the Avatar drops loot.
Exarch Maladaar Abilities
Trash Overview
Trash TL;DR
- Most enemies are Humanoid or Undead. CC is your best friend (sheep, shackle, trap, sap).
- Watch for heavy-hitting mobs like 18497. Tank them away from the group.
- Many trash packs spawn spirit adds. Kill the spirit adds first.
- Spirit add priority: 18503 > 18499 > 18500 (interrupt 22883).
- Heroic: caster pressure ramps. Interrupt aggressively and do not fight in bad positioning.
