Bosses

Totem fight. The entire encounter is easier if your group treats every totem as kill priority number one.

Mennu the Betrayer Strategy

  • TL;DR: destroy his totems immediately.
  • A safe approach is for the tank to kite Mennu in a wide circle so he is often out of range of his totems.
  • Be careful with the explosive totem: hitting it can trigger the explosion instantly.
  • Any class can delete most totems quickly, even healers can wand / melee / use low-rank spells to help.
  • Heroic: his tank damage and healing are much higher, and the explosive totem is dramatically more dangerous. Play it clean and respect the radius.

Loot (Normal and Heroic)

Normal:

Heroic:

Rokmar the Crackler Rokmar the Crackler boss image from The Slave Pens in TBC Classic

Heavy tank damage with a brutal bleed. He is mostly a healer check, and mistakes are expensive on Heroic.

Rokmar the Crackler Strategy

  • 31956 is the dangerous one: the bleed continues until the target is healed to full. Tanks and healers should coordinate cooldowns.
  • Use defensives and throughput early if your healer is struggling. This boss can feel slow because of his health pool.
  • Heroic: at low health he enrages (34970) and becomes much more lethal. Save something for the end.

Heroic:

Single-target fight with big tank hits and frequent party damage. Poison management matters.

Quagmirran Strategy

  • Pull him out of the water, then fight on the ground. Tank can use a ranged hit to start.
  • When the tank gets knocked back (32055), the party should move with the boss so melee uptime stays clean.
  • Spread out when possible so ranged can minimize unnecessary hits from his AoE nature pressure.
  • Cleanse poison quickly: 34780 should be removed ASAP.
  • Heroic: damage ramps hard. Nature resistance and solid poison cleansing make this dramatically smoother.

Remember to loot 33821 from 17942.

Trash Overview

Trash TL;DR
  • Most trash is Humanoid, so humanoid CC is very strong (Polymorph, Sap, Shackle, Fear control, etc.).
  • Plan for cleansing, especially poison pressure leading into the final boss.
  • If your group is struggling, slow down and mark targets. Coilfang packs punish sloppy chain pulls.
