Choosing between the Aldor and Scryers in The Burning Crusade Classic is one of the most important reputation decisions you’ll make in TBC Classic. But what if you changed your mind?
The good news: you can switch factions. The bad news: it’s a grind — and not a small one.
This guide explains exactly how to switch from Aldor to Scryer and how to switch from Scryer to Aldor, including where to go, which items to farm, and what to expect during the process.
How to Switch from Aldor to Scryers in TBC Classic
If you are currently aligned with the Aldor and want to switch to the Scryers, you’ll need to start in Shattrath City (Lower City).
Step 1: Find Arcanist Adyria
Go to Lower City in Shattrath and locate Arcanist Adyria at 54, 22.
She offers a repeatable quest Vorenthal’s Visions that allows you to turn in:
Step 2: Farm Dampscale Basilisk Eyes
These items drop from basilisks in Terokkar Forest. You will need to farm a large number of them.
This repeatable quest is the only way to increase your Scryer reputation until you reach Neutral.
Step 3: Reach Neutral with Scryers
Once you reach Neutral reputation, standard Scryer reputation turn-ins (like Firewing Signets, Sunfury Signets, and Arcane Tomes) become available again, and you can continue progressing normally.

How to Switch from Scryer to Aldor in TBC Classic
If you are currently aligned with the Scryers and want to switch to the Aldor, the process mirrors the one above.
Step 1: Find Sha’nir
Travel to Lower City in Shattrath and find Sha’nir at 64, 15.
She offers a repeatable quest Strained Supplies where you turn in:
Step 2: Farm Dreadfang Venom Sacs
These drop from spiders in Terokkar Forest. Like the basilisk eyes, you’ll need a significant amount to grind reputation back up.
This quest is the only way to increase Aldor reputation until reaching Neutral.
Step 3: Continue Normal Aldor Rep Turn-Ins
After hitting Neutral, you can resume traditional Aldor reputation gains through Mark of Kil’jaeden, Mark of Sargeras, and Fel Armament turn-ins.
