Project Camelot Reaches Patch 1.60.1 in New Encrypted WoW Build
Blizzard’s mysterious encrypted Warcraft build has advanced from Patch 1.60.0 to Patch 1.60.1, marking the first detected instance of the new version on the company’s WoW Dev 2 server. The change may represent another important development milestone for the unannounced project commonly associated with Project Camelot.
What Changed With the Project Camelot Build?
Patch-tracking data detected build 1.60.1.69141 on WoW Dev 2, replacing the previous 1.60.0.69075 version. That earlier 1.60.0 build had recently appeared on both WoW Dev 2 and WoW Dev 5 after receiving regular internal updates.
The encrypted build also briefly appeared on a Blizzard vendor server before returning to an internal development environment. Vendor-server activity can indicate preparation for testing involving an external partner, although the short-lived appearance did not confirm a closed beta, public test or playable BlizzCon build.
Why Could Patch 1.60.1 Be Significant?
Moving from a point-zero version to 1.60.1 could mean Blizzard has created a new development branch. One possibility is that Patch 1.60.0 is being stabilized for external testing or presentation while work continues separately on a later update through Patch 1.60.1.
If that interpretation is correct, the new branch could represent content intended to follow the project’s initial version. It would suggest that Blizzard is planning beyond a single launch build and developing later material in advance. However, the version number alone cannot establish what that material contains or how Blizzard intends to release it.
Important: Blizzard has not confirmed that Project Camelot is WoW Classic Plus. Patch 1.60.1 does not prove that a beta, content phase, release date or BlizzCon announcement is coming.
What Should Classic Plus Players Watch for Next?
The next major signal would be another appearance of Patch 1.60.0 or 1.60.1 on a vendor, test or public delivery environment. Separate updates continuing simultaneously on WoW Dev 2 and WoW Dev 5 could also strengthen the theory that Blizzard is maintaining multiple development branches.

Does the move to Patch 1.60.1 suggest that Project Camelot is further along than expected, or is this simply another internal version change? Share your interpretation in the comments below.
