Mote of Shadow Farming Guide
This Mote of Shadow farming guide shows the best routes and locations for farming Mote of Shadow in TBC Classic. Combine 10 Motes of Shadow to create Primal Shadow.
Best Mote of Shadow Farming Routes
The best place to farm Mote of Shadow is at Void Ridge in Hellfire Peninsula. Vacillating Voidcallers and Collapsing Voidwalkers spawn quickly here, making it a reliable low-downtime farming spot. You can also farm Voidspawns around Oshu’gun in Nagrand, though they are more spread out.
Farming Mote of Shadow in Hellfire Peninsula
Void Ridge in Hellfire Peninsula is the best Mote of Shadow farming location. There are many Vacillating Voidcallers and Collapsing Voidwalkers around the route, and they respawn quickly enough that you can usually farm without downtime.
Farming Mote of Shadow in Nagrand
Voidspawns around Oshu’gun in Nagrand are another option for farming Mote of Shadow. These mobs are a bit higher level than the mobs in Hellfire Peninsula, and they are more spread apart, so this route usually has more travel time between kills.
Using the Zapthrottle Mote Extractor
Engineers can use a Zapthrottle Mote Extractor to extract Mote of Shadow from Felmist in Shadowmoon Valley. Each extraction usually gives 2-5 motes, making this a strong farming method for Engineers with Epic flying.
Engineering goggles such as Ultra-Spectropic Detection Goggles or Deathblow X11 Goggles allow you to see gas clouds on your minimap. The goggles are not required, but they make cloud farming much easier.
